We are hosting a christmas party for the entire organization. The theme is “celebrating local food” and the menu is “Christmas themed”. There are plenty of food choices included, as well as a selection of desserts. But, the biggest highlight of this menu is the desserts. We are including 3 kinds of chocolates, 3 kinds of cookies, and 7 kinds of tarts.
It’s an unusual idea to include food-related treats on a christmas party menu, but it’s a great one. The chocolates are Christmas sized, the cookies are cookie-based, and the tarts are a mix of tarts and cookies.
The chocolate and the cookies were actually the first things I thought of when I saw the menu. The chocolate and the tarts are actually my favorite. Its hard to find great ones these days, so they made a nice addition to my holiday menu. They are also quite yummy.

Like the cookies and tarts, the cookies are great. It’s nice that you can make them yourself and only pay a few bucks. The only problem is that they don’t stay as long on the shelf as you might like.
The cookies that hit the shelves this week are made of a combination of coconut flakes, oats, and flour. They are a bit bland and not nearly as tasty as the cookies from earlier this year. This year they’ve added a little more flavor to the mix by mixing in a cup of chocolate chips.
The cookies this week were also made with whole eggs, but they are just as light as the cookies from earlier this year, in my opinion. If you don’t care for coconut, you might want to try the cookies from earlier this year.
I’m happy to report that the cookies from earlier this year are still in the kitchen. The cookies from earlier this year were made with white flour and the cookies from earlier this year are made with whole wheat flour. The cookies from earlier this year are much more tender, and less brittle, than the cookies from earlier this year.
