For the past few years I have been catering a few events and it’s been a lot of fun, especially when I get to cook something new and exciting. A lot of these events have been very small, which is great for a lot of reasons, but it also means that I sometimes get to work with a lot of people who aren’t quite the culinary wizards we had hoped for. With that being said, I think its great to be able to work with people who are also able to cook and do all of the other things you listed.
Because catering is a very collaborative activity, it makes for a great experience for me. At the same time, working with chefs is an experience that I enjoy. I think my favorite thing about working with them is that they are willing to share their expertise and knowledge with me.
Sure, I can agree that the food and atmosphere can be a little bit more sterile than in other kitchens, but at least it’s not the sterile, lifeless, and soulless place that I’ve come to expect.
The food is actually not too bad. I can agree that it is a little sterile and dull, but I dont think its the sterile and dull atmosphere that I was expecting. It is certainly more fun and creative.
In other words, they are a very happy, creative group of folks. I thought they would have a bit more energy and enthusiasm, and that was reflected in the food. It was actually very good, and I think they are a lot more fun and enthusiastic than I am in general.
